Decorating Your Nursery

As a Worcester MA newborn and family photographer, I just love a beautifully decorated nursery! Its probably one of the first things moms think about after finding out their expecting! They imagine rocking their new baby in this gorgeous nursery. Where do you start?

First you need to choose a color for the walls! I always suggest a light neutral color. Whites and grays are best. You can add pops of color with accessories. Having light neutral colored walls is best for giving it a light an airy feel and making the room feel bigger. its always great for photos, because you'll be wanting to capture every moment of your little one growing!

If you have hardwood floors, choose a simple neutral area rug, or you can choose one with a pop of color to bring out the accent colors in your accessories.

Choosing your furniture is so fun! You can go with a natural wood, white, or a fun color! I am loving the grays and dark blue colored furniture if you have white or cream colored walls.

Fabric for the crib is also so fun to choose, depending on it you have a theme to work with or just a simple color. I almost always go with simple and neutral because its best for photographs.

If you're having trouble deciding how to decorate check out Pinterest. There's so many fun articles on there that can help you choose a direction. Check out some of the nurseries I've photographed.
